Logic Wiz announces relocation of business operations due to proposed legal reforms in Israel

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL, January 25, 2023 – Logic Wiz, an Israeli software startup, has announced its plan to move its business operations outside of Israel, due to concerns about the potential effects of proposed legal reforms on the company and its values.

Logic Wiz encourages other Israeli businesses and individuals to express their concerns and call on the government to withdraw from the proposed changes.

“As an Israeli citizen who has spent a significant amount of time abroad and recently returned to establish a business in our home country, I am concerned about the potential loss of our nation’s identity and democratic values,” said Avner Amram, CEO of Logic Wiz. “It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the difficult decision to relocate our business operations outside of Israel. However, we believe it is important for us to take a stand for what we believe is just and right.”

The proposal by Justice Minister Yariv Levin, which is currently under review by the Knesset, aims to grant the Knesset the power to easily override decisions made by the Israeli Supreme Court. Several prominent figures in law and government, including Supreme Court President Esther Hayut and former chief justice Aharon Barak, have publicly expressed their opposition to the proposed reforms.

Several leading businesses and investors, including Insight Partners, a prominent investor in Israeli high-tech, have shared their concerns about the potential impact of the proposed legal reform on the business community and have temporarily suspended future investments in Israel.

“We have significant concerns about the potential consequences of the proposed legal changes to Israel’s democratic principles, individual rights, and the business community,” Amram continued. “While we have made the decision to relocate our operations, we remain dedicated to our Israeli clients and employees and will continue to support them.”
